Plan for the Impactful

I am often asked about the most important factor in a wedding reception and I usually (and easily) selfishly answer  – Entertainment.

Consider this: using gross averages, a wedding reception usually costs between $10,000 and $25,000. These costs include the dress, caterer, facility,  photographer, videographer and maybe transportation. However all the money spent on creating the ambiance of the day can be ruined with subpar entertainment.

I still think that the most impactful part of any successful reception is the music/entertainment, and it seems I’m not alone.

A survey of 440 recent brides revealed that music and entertainment played a more pivotal role in the success of a wedding reception than all other factors combined. Nearly six-in-ten responding brides named “entertainment” over such factors as food and facility choices as the key factor in determining the outcome of their wedding receptions.

Not only is it one of the most contributing factors, but good entertainment will make other vendors successful as well. Professional emceeing plus a full dance floor translates better photos, better videos, more smiles and happier honeymoons.

So when considering the color of the linen napkins, or the cocktail appetizers, don’t forget to plan for the impactful.
